Sport Tourism Workshops
Workshops to forge community partnerships
In the years leading up to the 2010 Winter Games, 2010 Legacies Now and partner Tourism British Columbia hosted Sport Tourism Workshops. These workshops show how the sport and tourism industries can work together to ensure sport events are a success for the entire community.
Learn about the economic benefits of sport tourism
2010 Legacies Now and Tourism BC initiated Sport Tourism Workshops as a community development initiative aimed at increasing awareness and knowledge of sport tourism opportunities arising from BC hosting the 2010 Winter Games.
Tourism BC is continuing to support these workshops to show how the sport and tourism industries can work together to ensure sport events bring economic benefits to communities across BC.
Sport Tourism Workshops offer a basic understanding of sport tourism and how it can benefit and relate to your community. Since the program began in 2005, over 500 people have participated in Sport Tourism Workshops.
